UK-UbiNet was an EPSRC funded network of research in the area of Ubiquitous Computing. The work is continuing within the EPSRC Ubicomp Grand Challenge on Building a Community based at Nottingham University   These web pages are focussed at describing the UK-Ubinet, providing updates and links to interesting events in the area of Ubiquitous Computing.

UK-UbiNet brings together academic researchers within the UK to build a multi-disciplinary community covering the broad aspects of ubiquitous computing, including the technology, human factors and socio-economic issues. Although the emphasis is on a network of academic researchers, we welcome involvement from industry and will work closely with the DTI Next Wave Technologies initiative to involve industry and to have joint workshops.

UK-UbiNet is also supporting the activities of the UKCRC Grand Challenge in Ubiquitous Computing (UbicompGC).  This is now a single activity which combines both the Science (theory) with the Engineering (systems) aspects of GC2 and GC4.
